Arrive at Chhatrapati Shivaji in the afternoon and complete your formalities for your hidden treasures of Gujarat rail journey. After all the procedures, you will be welcomed in a traditional way. Sip the refreshing drink while you are guided to the charming cabins of the luxurious train. Settle in and your will start you rail journey from Mumbai to Ellora Caves. Dinner will be served on board. Overnight on board the Deccan Odyssey.
Your morning routine will start with delicious breakfast on board. Today, you can try out some activities that are available on board. Later enjoy scrumptious lunch and we will then reach Aurangabad. Disembark from the train and you will then begin your scenic drive to Ellora Caves which is one of the top tourist attractions in Aurangabad. Witness the beautiful cave temple, rock cut shrines that showcases Buddhist, Jain and Hindu art that dates back from the 4th and the 5th century AD. Aurangabad, named after the last Great Mughal Aurangzeb, is an industrial town in Maharashtra. This is the stop from where you will proceed to explore the brilliant Ellora Caves - a World Heritage site. While you're here, notice how the city itself has deep Mughal influences. It houses many famous monuments here, including the Daulatabad Fort, Bibi-ka-Makbara and the city's 52 gates. After exploring Ellora Caves, return back to the Deccan Odyssey. Overnight stay on board the Deccan Odyssey
Today, after breakfast, you will be proceeding to enjoy and explore the beautiful city of Aurangabad. Disembark from the train and head to visit Bibi-Ka-Maqbara which is known to be the last resting place of Aurangzeb’s wife Dilras Banu. Built by her son, this monument is called the ‘Taj of the Deccan’ attracting tourists from all walks of life. Then proceed to visit a facility that deals in weaving of Himroo fabric. These fabric features Persian designs with silver and gold threads. Later return back to Deccan Odyssey for lunch and rest for a while. By evening enjoy the sundowner along with delicious dinner as the train moves towards Ramtek for Pench National Park. Overnight on board the Deccan Odyssey.
Wake up early today as Deccan Odyssey will make a halt at Ramtek where you will be exploring the beautiful creations of nature at Pench National Park. This famous park is named after the Pench River and is rich in biodiversity. Enjoy the game drive tour at the park and get an opportunity to get close with animals as well as nature. After the game drive, return back to Deccan Odyssey for brunch on board. Later in the afternoon, get ready to set out to explore more wild in the national park. The park is home to storks, waterfowls, vulture species and the green pigeon. Apart from the animals, the forest boasts of various shrubs, trees, weeds, herbs, grasses, climbers and much more. After your thrilling day at the Pench, you will be driven back to Ramtek station to board the Deccan Odyssey. Enjoy delicious dinner on board as the train will depart for Tadoba. Overnight on board the Deccan Odyssey.
Your day will kick start with your arrival at Chandrapur station. You will be indulging in morning safari in Tadoba Tiger Reserve. Well known as the ‘land of Tigers’, this reserve is famous for its huge population of tigers. On this safari tour, you will get an opportunity to encounter tigers and wild dogs. Apart from the tigers, you will also spot leopards, sloth bears, guars, rates and species of deer. After enthralling morning safari tour, enjoy breakfast at the Tiger Trails lodge followed by a documentary on wildlife. Post lunch, you will b driving back to the Chandrapur station. Enjoy the lip smacking cocktails prepared by the on board bartender and later enjoy dinner as well. The Deccan Odyssey will move forward to Jalgaon where you will be visiting the famous Ajanta Caves. Overnight on board the Deccan Odyssey.
Today, you will be arriving at Jalgaon station. You will then disembark and proceed to Ajanta Caves. A world heritage site, Ajanta Caves is a popular attraction that has garnered tourists from all walks of life. The caves at Ajanta have been expertly carved and ornamented with Buddhist sculptures and paintings. After your tour, return back to Deccan Odyssey for lunch as it will proceed to Nashik. Rest of the day will be at leisure. You can indulge in optional activities on board and overnight stay at Deccan Odyssey.
Today, you will be moving towards Nashik that is also known as the wine capital of the country. Head to Pandu Leni after breakfast and explore the ancient Jain and Buddhist cave temples. Later drive to Grover Zampa Vineyards where you will get to taste the exclusive range of wines. Stroll through the lanes of Chenin, Chardonnay and Shiraz grapes and get to learn about the traditional method of making wine. Relax for a while at the Deccan Odyssey. By evening, you will be visiting the Godavari Ghats where you will get to witness the different forms of Hindu religions. Enjoy dinner at the Deccan Odyssey and overnight stay in the train. The train will begin its journey towards Mumbai.
Post breakfast, you will be dropped at Chhatrapati Shivaji terminus railway station from you will disembark your journey.
