After breakfast, start your local sightseeing excursion from Lingaraj Temple which is known to be one of the most sacred and religious sites in India. This temple is one of the oldest temples in the city and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Continue your drive to Mukteshwar Temple which is situated at a hill top and was built in the 10th century. Next you will visit Parsurameswara Temple which happens to be built in the 12th and the 13th century. Later you will visit Rajarani Temple which is believed to have been constructed between 11th and 12th century. Lastly you will stop at Museum of Tribal Arts & Artifacts that exhibits the Orissan Tribal culture. Overnight stay at hotel in Bhubaneswar.
Today after breakfast, drive to Puri. Enroute make a stopover at Khandagiri and Udayagiri Caves which are the next major Orissan historical monument after Ashoka’s rock-cut edict. In order to create this multi-story, ancient apartment building for Jain's monks, the rock on Khandagiri and Udayagiri was sculpted and tunneled. It was the work of King Kharavela, the first known Orissan king, and it probably started in the first century BC. Next proceed to visit Dhauli where Ashoka renounced violence and embraced the teachings of Buddha. Visit Peace Pagoda which is also known as Shanti Stupa, built in 1970s. Later arrive at Puri and overnight stay at the hotel.
Enjoy your breakfast and later embark on a drive to Ratnagiri, Udayagiri & Lalitgiri. Ratnagiri in the district of Jajpur district is yet another popular Buddhist center that can be visited on your tour. The little hill near the village of the same name has rich Buddhist antiquities. A big stupam Buddhist shrines, sculptures and two large monasteries can be seen over there. In its magnificent ruins, Ratnagiri offers a large brick monastery with beautiful doorways, a cella, sanctum with a colossal Buddha statue, and a large number of Buddhist sculptures for art and architecture lovers, lay visitors as well as special groups. There's a smaller monastery at the site along with a stone temple, brick shrines and a main stupa with many smaller stupas around it. Udayagiri is another popular Buddhist complex with ruins of monasteries and temples. Next stop will be Lalitgiri which is one of the odlest Buddhist sites and famous for its stupas & relics. Evening back to Puri. Overnight at the hotel.
Munch in your breakfast and visit the Chariot of the Sun God Temple which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site built by King Langula Narasimha Deva in the 13th century AD during the golden era of Orissan art. Next visit Pipili Artist village that produce applique art, which is a process of cutting coloured cloth into shapes of birds, animals, flowers, gods and goddess. These creations are then fabricated into handbags, cushion covers, lampshades and even garden umbrellas. Return back by evening for overnight stay.
Post breakfast, visit Jagannath Temple which is one of the four sacred dhams in the Hindu religion. The temple is dedicated to the Lord of the Universe and is built in the 12th century. Later head to visit Nata Mandir and Bhoga Mandir which were built in 14th and 15th century. Proceed for excursion to Chilika Lake, enjoy the boat cruise and get a chance to see the dolphins. The lake is known to be home to endless number of threatened species of plants and animals. Overnight stay at the hotel.
