Arrive at Chhatrapati Shivaji in the afternoon and complete your formalities for your hidden treasures of Gujarat rail journey. After all the procedures, you will be welcomed in a traditional way. Sip the refreshing drink while you are guided to the charming cabins of the luxurious train. Settle in and your will start you rail journey from Mumbai to Bijapur. Dinner will be served on board. Overnight on board the Deccan Odyssey.
Have your breakfast on board and leave for Bijapur which is your next destination on this luxurious tour. Bijapur is well known to be the historical capital of the Sultans of Deccan. Get ready to explore this beautiful city with your first stop to Gumbaz which is known to be the second largest tomb in the world. This round shaped dome is a mausoleum of Adil Shah, the Sultan of Bijapur. Proceed to Jumma Masjid which is known as one of the first mosques in India. Then head to Malik-e-Maidan which is known to be the largest medieval canyon in the world. The best part about this gun is that if you touch the gun and make a wish, chances are it will be fulfilled. Next visit Mehtar Mahal which is a 17th century gateway to mosque. After the tour visit Rouza known to be one of the most refined Islamic monuments of India. Return back to Deccan Odyssey for lunch and the train will depart for Aihole & Pattadakal. Overnight on Deccan Odyssey.
Today, wake up early and savour delicious breakfast on board. Later head out to see the ancient temples of Aihole and Pattadakal that are known to be one of the largest temple complexes across the globe. Aihole is generally called the cradle of Indian architecture and a famous tourist attraction as well. The city boasts of 70 rock cut temples that has been constructed by the Chalukyan kings. Explore various temples and get to know about the city. Continue your journey to Pattadakal that is situated on the banks of Malaprabha River. Get to see the spectacular architectural style that exhibits both South and North Indian style. Return back to Deccan Odyssey for lunch and rest for a while. Post lunch, you can choose to go on an optional tour that covers the weaving village of Guledgud. This village is well known for its hand and power looms of ikal and khan. See how the process of weaving is done and shop for your favourite souvenirs to take back home. You can also head to visit Badami’s sculpture temples and rock cut caves. Head back to the Deccan Odyssey for dinner as you will be moving to Hampi. Overnight on Deccan Odyssey
Enjoy your delicious breakfast on board and leave for Hampi. Disembark from the train and get ready to explore the city of Hampi. This beautiful city is well known for its sculptures, splendid architecture and historical significance. Begin your tour by heading to Narasimha statue and make sure to click some pictures as well. Later proceed to mustard Ganesh which is situated at the base of the Hemkuta Hills. Explore the region and enjoy the breathtaking vistas of the hills. Make sure to walk the banks of Tungabhadra River as you will leave the Virupaksha temple. Later head back to Hospet for lunch on board the Deccan Odyssey. After lunch, get ready to explore some of the other places of Hampi. Reach the royal center which was the citadel of Vijayanagara kings. Head to visit Queens Bath, the Stepped Tank, the Mahanavami Dibba and the Hazararama Temple. After a full day tour, return back to Hospet Station. Board the train for your onward journey to Hyderabad and enjoy the dinner.
Today, you will be reaching the royal city of Nizams-Hyderabad. After breakfast head to Golconda which is known to be the epitome of Nizami culture and grandeur. Enjoy your time exploring the beautiful city of Hyderabad and later head back to Deccan Odyssey for lunch. You can also choose to go for optional shopping tour where you can buy pearls, lac bangles and custom mad oil fragrances. Savour delicious Hyderabadi biryani and later proceed to Falaknuma Palace. The palace stands tall and it stands for ‘like the sky’. Enjoy sumptuous high tea after the tour ends in the palace itself. Later head to visit Charminar. Featuring busy bazaars, charminar stands tall in the centre of the city. This historical monument was built by Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah in order to fulfill his vow of building a mosque. Take a stroll through the markets that includes the Laad Bazaar where you can find jewellery and other things. Return to the Deccan Odyssey for dinner as Deccan Odyssey continues the journey to Aurangabad.
Your morning routine will start with delicious breakfast on board. Today, you can try out some activities that are available on board. Later enjoy scrumptious lunch and we will then reach Aurangabad. Disembark from the train and you will then begin your scenic drive to Ellora Caves which is one of the top tourist attractions in Aurangabad. Witness the beautiful cave temple, rock cut shrines that showcases Buddhist, Jain and Hindu art that dates back from the 4th and the 5th century AD. Aurangabad, named after the last Great Mughal Aurangzeb, is an industrial town in Maharashtra. This is the stop from where you will proceed to explore the brilliant Ellora Caves - a World Heritage site. While you're here, notice how the city itself has deep Mughal influences. It houses many famous monuments here, including the Daulatabad Fort, Bibi-ka-Makbara and the city's 52 gates. After exploring Ellora Caves, return back to the Deccan Odyssey. You will continue your journey to Ajanta Caves. Overnight stay on board the Deccan Odyssey
Kick start your day with sumptuous breakfast and then you will be arriving at Jalgaon station. After breakfast, you will be heading to Ajanta caves which is one of the famous tourist attractions in Aurangabad. You will get to see 30 rock hewn Buddhist caves that boast of paintings and sculptures of Buddhist religious art. Have your lunch on boars and later disembark to visit Mahatma Gandhi memorial. You will get to learn about the history of Gandhi himself and his involvement in the Indian history. Return back by evening to Deccan Odyssey where you will enjoy scrumptious dinner. We will then be moving onto our last leg to Mumbai.
Post breakfast, you will be dropped at Chhatrapati Shivaji terminus railway station from you will disembark your journey.
