After breakfast, head to climb Sigiriya rock fortress which is considered to be a World Heritage Site. It is a 5th century rock citadel of King Kasyapa and is a popular tourist attraction in Sri Lanka. Proceed to step through the huge Lion Paws that overlooks the symmetrical royal gardens. You will come across ramparts and frescoes that are related to the Gupta style paintings that resemble those in Ajanta Caves. While climbing the fortress quench your thirst by drinking coconut water and afterwards proceed to visit Polonnaruwa city which is approximately 1.5 hours away. Munch in your breakfast and check out from the hotel to proceed to Kandy which is almost 3 hours drive from Habarna. On arrival, head to visit Temple of the sacred tooth relic. It is a Buddhist temple situated in royal complex of the former kingdom of Kandy that houses the relic of the tooth of Buddha. Get ready to enjoy 4X4 jeep safari at the Udawalawa National Park which is famous for its wildlife spotting.
